Open till 8 p.m. daily starting June 1, 2020

SLO FOOD CO-OP (Monday, June 1, 2020) —Due to high demand, we have extended our curbside service hours (now 8-11 a.m. Monday through Friday) as well as its general store hours (now 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week). A dedicated hour for immunocompromised folks and seniors will continue to be offered from 10-11 a.m. daily.

Curbside service is not just for the high risk community, but available to anyone who wishes to remain safely in their vehicle. All customers need to do is roll down their window briefly to communicate their needs to a dedicated shopper waiting in the parking lot. Customers are encouraged to bring a detailed shopping list to expedite the process. No online or phone orders are available at this time.

“Curbside service with our dedicated shopping feature has become a popular option,” said General Manager Zack Sheppard. “No need to come inside to pay, as we can run your card for you. We also want folks to know that they can stop by the Co-op from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. for dedicated shopping service. Just notify the cashier that you’d like someone to shop for you while you wait outside.”

According to Sheppard, the Co-op has seen a rise in demand for fresh local produce and meat, grab-and-go items, wellness and artisanal goods.

“We know our community values what we offer, especially right now. We’re listening to our shoppers’ needs and aiming to go above and beyond the call of duty. Extending our general hours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily felt like the right choice, and we will remain open later even after Covid-19.”

For the health of all, the Co-op strongly urges shoppers to wear a cloth covering over the nose and mouth during shopping trips. Clean bags and boxes are available for shoppers to use and reusable bags brought from home may be left outside for the time being.
